One of the greatest things about Holland, the Stroopwafel can be found in any Dutch supermarket, but definetely, the best ones are on the street markets, freshly made hot ones. It was created in Gouda, in the late 18th century, out of leftover crumbs and spices and syrup.
There are many different recipies online, I might try them and check witch ones are the good ones, but I think that might be something special about eating it just as you wander the streets of any town in the Netherlands.
People from all over the world taste it and love it. It´s so popular that you can find signs (like the picture) at the door of some stores, forbiding the cookie inside.
